Biography:
René Salomon Olembé-Olembé (born 8 December 1980 in Yaoundé) is a Cameroonian football player who plays for Wigan Athletic.
Olembé played for Cameroon at the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, as well as the 2004 African Cup of Nations. He had been with Marseille since 2002, but spent some time on loan with Leeds United in the 2003-2004 season.
Olembé spent Summer 2007 on trial at Derby County, where he scored in a friendly match against Burton Albion. However, he was not offered a contract by Derby, and on September 4, he was snapped up by Chris Hutchings at Wigan. He is seen as an ideal replacement for the recently departed Leighton Baines, signing initially on a one-year contract.
